A 747 jumbo jet touches down on the runway. The switch board starts to
flash the updated information to indicate its arrival.

Saeko drives up to the parking lot of New Tokyo Airport with her partner
Ohnaki. Saeko is not happy of this particular assignment.

Killiman, the information trader from East Galiera, walks out of the
terminal gate. He deposits something from his coat pocket into the trash
bin, and no one notices it except for a tall, handsome middle age man on the
second floor.

The assignment of Saeko is to escort Killiman to the police headquarter,
who appears to have valuable information of the East Galiera activity in the
Far East to sell to the police in his hand-cuffed briefcase. They notice a
commotion of a group of reporters near by. The reporters are trying to
interview Nina Stenberg. Nina is a famous piano musician from West
Galiera, who is coming to Japan to give a friendship charity concert between
Japan and West Galiera. Her grandfather and also her manager, Klaus
Stenberg, is pushing away the reporters rather rudely.

Suddenly the man on the second floor raises a gun with a silencer attached
and shoots out the handcuff and separates Killiman from his briefcase,
which is promptly being picked up by anther man and runs away. Saeko's
partner goes after him, while Killiman asks Saeko to forget about the
briefcase and to protect him instead. A second shot is fired and hits
Killiman right between the eyes. This causes another commotion and crowds
are forming around the body. An explosion from the trash bin follows.
Damages are done, but because everyone was around the body nobody was
killed.

In the confusion Nina separates herself from her grandfather and boards a
bus. On the other side of the parking lot the middle age man, Colonel
Hersen of the East Galiera intelligence agency, boards a Jaguar. The car is
being driving by Gyunta, the guy who picked up the briefcase.

Opening credits rolls with the song "Weekend Warrior", sung by Mika Kaneko.

At Shinjuku East Gate terminal, Ryo and Kaori are looking at the bulletin
board for job notice. Kaori is not happy with the negative result and
informs Ryo that they had just achieved a new record by not having a client
for 48 straight days. Ryo promptly starts a celebration to mark the
occasion.

Kaori starts to pass out pamphlets for promotion, and Reika comes by to ask
if Ryo can help her out in her detective business, because she was so busy
lately. Kaori refuses the job. Ryo then starts to talk about reserving a
room for the hotel with Reika because "all the business partners have this
mokkori relationship." Kaori then asks "Why then you did not have a mokkori
relationship with me?" She is rather embarrassed after she said it and runs
away. Reika takes notice that she still has chances with Ryo and leaves.

Ryo takes a detour to Cat's Eye and meets Umibozu. He notices there is
another coffee cup and Umibozu tells him that Kaori also came and is
downstair in the shooting range with Miki.

Miki encourages Kaori to shoot some rounds. Kaori starts shooting while
thinking of the target board as Ryo's face and yelling things at it/Ryo.
Umibozu upstair notices that Kaori is having a bad temper. Ryo then
comments that it is good for practice. Kaori finally hits the bull's eye
and Umibozu comments that Ryo really does understand Kaori.

Nina walks in the store and quickly recognizes Ryo. She asks Ryo to play a
tape, which is the grieving score by Maki*. It turns out Maki and Nina are
classmates in Vienna, and Maki suggested her to seek Ryo's and Umibozu's help
to solve her problem. Her problem is that she had never seen her father
before and always thought that her father was dead before she was born.
That was what her grandfather had always told her. However, just before her
mother, also a famous pianist, died five years ago she told her that her
father is still alive and is at Japan. She got away from her grandfather to
ask Ryo and Umibozu to find her father. The only clue is a pendant from her
mother with the mark "J.to S." J stands for her father's first name
initial. S stands for Sophia, her mother's name. Ryo invites Nina to stay
in his apartment and everyone come over to keep an eye on Ryo.

In the embassy of the East Galiera, Bondaru, the new ambassador is angry
because there is nothing but junks in Killiman's briefcase. Hersen informs
Bondaru that he had already warned him Killiman won't carry the document on
himself. He also backs up his action for killing Killiman by asking
Bondaru if he wants to take the responsibility for the bombing, which
Killiman would surely blame it on the East Galiera to try to raise his
stock. So he can then sells his information at a higher price. He says the
agency will take care of the rest and wants Bondaru and his man Gyunta to
stay out of it. After he leaves the room Bondaru instructs Gyunta to keep
an eye on Hersen and his man and snatches the document in the end to take
the credits for themselves.

Hersen meet his man in another room and Oigen informs him the last contact
Killiman had was with Klaus, Nina's manager.

Ryo talked to Saeko on the phone asking for help. Saeko refused because she
is busy with the case of Killiman. Ryo then threatens to come over and
collects on her debts.

After they have dinner with take out foods Ryo purposely spilled a drink on
Nina's shirt to start his mokkori attacks. He does not get anywhere as
Kaori stops his every moves. Umibozu and Miki drive away being satisfied
that the night is safe.

Nina comes into the bedroom and mistaking Kaori for her mother, as both of
them share the same look from the back looking out the window. Nina
explains that her mother always looked out the window sadly whenever she
asked her about her father. Nina says her mother must loves her father very
much. After another failed Ryo's mokkori attack Kaori convinces Nina to go
back to Klaus to stay in the hotel for the night.

Klaus, after getting Nina's phone call and realizes Nina's intention, starts
to regret the trip to Japan. He is then being kidnapped by Oigen. Nina
sees her grandfather and Kaori realizes something is wrong. Ryo then
appears on the scene and Nina finds out that Ryo is a totally different
person in crisis. After Ryo disarms Oigen he senses the present of a
dangerous person. Hersen cocks but never pull the trigger as Umibozu shows
up in his jeep. As both side break off from the scene, Gyunta sees
that Klaus is the person that Hersen is after.

In the hotel, Ryo trys to make Umibozu to pick lot, in order to decide who
will be staying to protect Nina for the night. Kaori caught Ryo cheating
and Ryo is on his way home. Kaori is surprise at the ease of sending Ryo
away.

Gyunta is making his report to Bondaru. Bondaru tells Gyunta to wait to
make his move until Hersen meet Klaus again. This way they can be sure he is
the person holding Killiman's information.

Ryo drives to RN Detective Agency to hire Reika for a job, and offers his
love as payment. Kaori, after tailing Ryo to Reika's place, can not hear
what is being discussed. Afterward Ryo and Reika decide to go to a bar for
a drink, but Ryo never gets more than 3 steps away from the door before he
is crushed by Kaori's 2,000,000 horsepower hammer! Ryo is then being
stripped of most of his clothings and hangs outside the building for the
night by Kaori.

The second day Ryo and Kaori go to the hotel to relieve Umibozu. Ryo sends
Kaori to park the car while he plans to start another round of his mokkori
attack. However, he is confronted by Hersen in the lobby and both men are
tense before they walk away from each other. Saeko shows up and informs Ryo
of Hersen's identity. Johann F. Hersen is the top agent in Europe and has
the nickname of the Vermilion God of Death. Saeko is investigating him for
the death of Killiman.

Ryo goes to Nina's room and his mokkori jump is met by Umibozu. Nina
makes a hastily withdraw from the room to join Klaus and the start of the
reception. Umibozu then turns over the job to Ryo and goes home.

Klaus, on his way to check on Nina, is met by Hersen. Hersen reminds him
that the document Killiman gave him is useless to him, and might even
endanger him and Nina. Hersen promises Klaus that he will never show up in
front of Nina and him again if he turns over the document. Klaus agrees,
but only after the concert is over and just before Nina and him leave the
country. Nina shows up from the elevator and trips over Hersen, and Hersen
helps her to get up. Nina feels some strange feelings toward this stranger.
After Hersen departed from the scene Klaus and Nina are being kidnapped by
Gyunta at gun point.

Kaori is at the reception to enjoy the free food and wonders where Ryo and
Nina are when someone comes running in and declares both Nina and Klaus
missing. Kaori then asks the guy by her side to watch her food for her,
before she goes outside to start the search.

Hersen is going to his BMW in the underground parking lot when he is
approached by Ryo and Saeko. Saeko shows him the special M189 bullet which
killed Killiman. However, Saeko can not arrest Hersen because of his
diplomatic immunity. Saeko is surprised when being informed that Killiman,
not the East Galiera planted the bomb in the airport. Ryo thanks Hersen for
saving many lives in the airport by creating the diversion. Ryo then is met
by Kaori's hammer. Kaori explains what had happen and demands the where
about of Nina. Upon hearing that Hersen drives off in his BMW, follows by
Ryo's Mini. Leaving Kaori and Saeko in puzzlement.

Ryo sees the Jaguar with the foreign government license plate and starts to
give chase. After some twists and turns Hersen appears on the sidewalk and
shoots the Jaguar's radiator out with his gun. The Jaguar is forced to stop
for overheating. Ryo wounds Gyunta's right hand and chases him away, while
thinking of the safe way Hersen chose to stop the Jaguar.

At Ryo's apartment Saeko asks Klaus for the documents Killiman gave him.
Klaus first denies, then asks to trade it for the arrest of Hersen for the
death of Killiman. After Saeko explains that she couldn't Klaus then wants
to hire Ryo to kill Hersen instead. Ryo asks him the reason of his hatred.
He then asks point blank if Hersen is the father of Nina, for Hersen has the
initial of J. Reika then walks in and gives a report of her investigation
on the connection between Hersen and Sophia. It appears that Hersen and
Sophia met in a friendship concert in West Galiera and they quickly
developed a relationship. However, Klaus claimed that Hersen did all these
to cover up his identity in his spy operation. He says Hersen abandoned
Sophia, who gave birth to Nina later. All of these were overheard by Nina.

Next day Nina approaches Ryo on the roof top and asks him why her father
left her mother. She does not believe that Hersen was only using her
mother. Ryo tells her to believe in her father, that a man sometimes leaves
a woman because he loves her. Nina does not want that, she wants people to
stay with the person they love, just likes between Ryo and herself right
now. Ryo upons hearing that, beats a hastily retreat.

Bondaru, after hearing the report from Gyunta, decides to send in the special
force.

Kaori comes back from grocery shopping and notices that it is going to rain
very hard.

In the basement shooting range Ryo shows off his shooting skill to Nina.
Nina wishes to meet Hersen again to ask him why he left her mother. Ryo
promises that he will let Nina meet her father before the end of the concert
tour. He also finds out Kaori is willing to leave Nina alone with him
because she had lent Nina one of her hammer.

Ryo realizes something is wrong when he hears the sound of the helicopter's
rotor blades. The special force land on the roof top to start the attack.
Ryo leaves Nina in the basement, punching the elevator up and goes up the 7
floors via the stairway. The special force has no problem in getting Klaus
and beat back Kaori's wok attack. Ryo is delayed by two grenades and by the
time he gets to the roof top, Kaori is hanging onto the helicopter and being
taking away with Klaus. Laibuniitsu, captain of the special force, amuses
himself with the ease of the job. All of these are being observed by
Hersen, and he drives away calling Bondaru a fool.

Ryo returns to the basement and start to get ready to rescue Kaori and
Klaus. Nina is envy of Kaori for whenever she is in danger, Ryo will come
to save her. Ryo refuses Nina's plea to take her along in the rescue.
Telling her that her job is to make the concert a success. He apologizes to
Nina, for he probably could not let Nina meet her father before the end of
concert. He asks Nina to borrow the pendant. He then opens it up, and just
as he thought, discovers a micro chip behind the picture of Sophia. Saeko
shows up and says it is probably useless if she asks Ryo for the chip now.

Hersen and his man drives up to an athletic club in a remote location. In
the mansion inside, Laibuniitsu is threatening to kill Kaori to force Klaus
to reveal the location of the document. However, before that happen, Hersen
walks in and declares the document must be in the pendant with Klaus's grand
daughter. He tells Laibuniitsu not to be too over confident from his
initial success before he walks away.

Ryo and Saeko are going over the map after Ryo determines the location of
Kaori and Klaus from the tracking device he placed on Kaori's shirt. Saeko
reveals that it is a country club resort built by some European millionaire,
and had long been suspected as the secret base for the East Galiera. She
also says the police can not intervene because there is no evident. Just
before Ryo left Nina ask Ryo why he doesn't return Kaori's love. Ryo just
says:

"Woman can fall in love for the rest of her life, I can only fall in love
once a while."

Nina thinks that is why her father left her mother, but Ryo disagrees,
telling her to have more faith in Hersen, because he is probably a much
kinder person than he is.

Ryo walks out the apartment and finds Umibozu waiting in his jeep. Ryo
agrees to let Umibozu to get in the actions if Umibozu would drive, Umibozu
explains that he needs the exercise.

Hersen shows up in the cell which is holding Kaori and Klaus. He explains
his reason for letting Bondaru knows about the location of the document
because "Once you fall into the hand of Laibuniitsu, sooner or later you
have to tell him anyway." He also tells them not to worry about Nina
because the special force probably won't move until next day, and Ryo would
probably show up before then. He then takes away the tracking device from
Kaori's shirt. Before Hersen left Kaori asks him why he left Sophia and
tells him that Nina is troubled because of it. Hersen is surprised that
Nina had known the fact. He then says "I will be waiting for Mr. Saeba to
arrive here, for he will probably give Sophia and me an answer."

Klaus is sadden that Nina knows about the truth. He can not understand why
women loves the dangerous kind of men like Hersen and Ryo.

The concert is about to start in Shinjuku music hall. Saeko escorts Nina to
the building and Nina is about to play her first note. Nina tells herself
that she believes in her mother, father, and Ryo, and is confident to give a
good concert.

At about the same time Nina strikes her first note Umibozu busts down the
front gate of the country club with his bazooka. They quickly overrun the
first line of the defense. Laibuniitsu is being informed of the size of the
intruders and he is not worry.

A rocket manages to knock out Umibozu's jeep and they start to proceed on
foot. Ryo and Umibozu manage to penetrate inside the mansion.

Hersen is also playing a piano in a separate room of the mansion. Father
and daughter miles away playing the same notes at the same time....

Laibuniitsu is being informed about the progress of the battle. Even then
he is still confident and tells Bondaru not to worry.

Kaori hears about the noise and realizes that Ryo must be near. Klaus then
asks her how she can be so happy and if she doesn't feel afraid and
unfortunated. Kaori replies, yes, she is afraid. But she does not feel
unfortunated. She believes Ryo will show up and save her. Looking at
Kaori's face Klaus starts to think back to the time when he forced Hersen to
leave Sophia. He wonders if he made a mistake that time.

Ryo and Umibozu penetrate deeper inside the mansion. Umibozu tells Ryo to
go look for Kaori, then he starts to clean house. His final grenade attacks
just about wipe out the entire special force.

Gyunta is afraid by the ease the special force are being taken out. He runs
toward the prison cell in the basement.

Oigen comes into the piano room and informs Hersen of the demise of the
special force. Hersen stops playing piano and leaves the room.

Umibozu has one final battle and beats Laibuniitsu one on one. Bondaru
starts to try to get away.

Gyunta is just about ready to kill both Kaori and Klaus when Ryo shows up.
Gyunta's try at using Kaori as a shield failed. Ryo wounds his left hand
this time and tells him to go get a desk job.

After Ryo, Kaori, and Klaus left Gyunta is getting hysteria and goes into
the ammunition deport to blow himself up. The explosion destroys the
building completely. Ryo, Kaori, Klaus, Umibozu, and Bondaru escape barely
with their lives.

From the fire walks out Hersen. He reveals to all that he loves Sophia very
much. Also because he loves her he does not wish anything bad happen to
her. It was his decision, not because of Klaus, to leave Sophia. He did it
for Sophia and the baby that was still inside her, even when he could have
taken Sophia back to East Galiera with him. He did not want Sophia and the
baby to get involved in his world. However, after seeing Ryo and Kaori
together, he is confused and starts to wonder if he made the right decision
that time. He challenges Ryo to a duel in order to find his answer.

Ryo agrees to the duel and ask Umibozu to be the witness. He reloads his
gun with one bullet.

As Nina's musical note reaches its climax, both men draw their gun
simultaneously.

As Nina's music draws to a close, Ryo is being knocked backward from the
force of the bullet.

Kaori runs to Ryo's side, but Ryo gets up and tells her he is ok. The
bullet had struck and shattered the pendant, spared Ryo with his life.

Nina is standing up to take the applause from the crowds. She is surprised
when one of the piano strings breaks in half.

Blood starts to drip down from Hersen's shirt. He comments that he probably
thinks too much, and he is envy of both Ryo and Kaori. Bondaru starts to
run away wildly as Hersen collapses to the ground. Oigen, standing far
away, sadly takes notice of Hersen's death and leaves the scene.

Bondaru reaches the embassy in Tokyo and is surprised to find Shutaina,
director of the Special Investigation of East Galiera, in his office. The
director informs him that he will be transfered back to East Galiera for
investigation, and most likely will be sent to a labor camp for the
destruction of their Far East secret base. The director mourns the passing
of Hersen, flashing back to the past when both Hersen and him fall in love
with Sophia. He comments: "He is probably with Sophia in heaven now, lucky
guy...."

In a new day Ryo, Kaori, Umibozu, and Miki are at the pier to see Nina and
Klaus off. Ryo returns and apologizes for the destruction of the pendant.
Nina is not angry because it saves Ryo's live.

As the ship pulls away, Saeko drives up to the pier, and informs Ryo that
the East Galiera had officially recognized the death of Hersen.

Nina is looking out of the window of the ship. She is thinking of Ryo and
envious of Kaori. Between Ryo and Kaori there is really no place for her.
While Kaori still has Ryo she has nothing. At this moment Hersen walks up
to a startled Nina. He apologizes for not telling her earlier that he
survived the battle. The reason is he has no place to go until the East
Galiera thinks he is dead. He promises to Nina that they will have enough
time to find the lost 20 years between them. A contented Klaus walks away
to leave them alone together.

On the pier Miki asks Umibozu who really won the duel between Ryo and
Hersen. Umibozu replies:

"Hard to say, for both of them the question is not about winning. Anyway,
they both are not qualify to be a professional. At least, I am the only one
capable of killing Ryo."

Saeko compliments on Ryo's strategic of using a reduced powder bullet and
hit it right on the ribs, so the bullet would stop before the heart. Ryo
says it's a gamble he had to make in order for the East Galiera to believe
Hersen was really dead. Ryo asks Saeko if she wants the micro chip, Saeko
tells him it is no longer needed. As Saeko drives away Kaori apologizes to
Ryo for being so clumsy and she is probably not qualify to be his partner.
Ryo tells her that without her latching onto the helicopter he would never
find out where the secret base was. She is completely qualify to be his
partner.

On the ship Hersen is thinking:

"Mr. Saeba, I had found my answer. But your answer has just started."

Ryo flips the micro chip into the water as he and Kaori walk toward their
car.

Closing credits rolls with the song "16 Nights", sung by Mariko Takahashi

Note:
* The story of Maki Himuro is totally separated from this movie. It is
sufficient to know that Maki's father is Umibozu's team leader in the
mercenary days, and the violin music score is one which holds a special
meaning for Captain Himuro, Maki, and Umibozu.
